💷 Pay: £15.34 per hour
📅 Contract: 1 month (with potential to extend)
⏰ Hours: 37 per week, Monday–Saturday (8:00am–6:00pm, flexible shifts)
About the Role
We’re recruiting for a compassionate and adaptable Support Worker – Learning Disabilities to join a busy service supporting individuals across the South West.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll support people with learning disabilities and complex needs to live independently, safely and confidently within their communities. No two days are the same—you’ll be working closely with individuals to build their confidence, develop life skills and achieve personal goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
Build strong, trusting relationships with customers and partner agencies
Support individuals to develop independence and engage in their communities
Create and review support plans with clear, achievable goals
Complete risk assessments and ensure safe working practices
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service outcomes
Work both independently (including lone working) and as part of a team
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards at all times
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting individuals with a range of needs, ideally in a care or support setting
Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in varied situations
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Confident working both independently and as part of a team
Flexible approach to working hours to meet service needs
Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity
A positive, proactive approach with the ability to adapt to change
Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field
Knowledge of housing-related support or community services
Experience working with vulnerable individuals in group or one-to-one settings
British Sign Language (BSL) knowledge
Enhanced DBS check required
