About the role

Supply Heroes are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive primary school in the Perry Barr area for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 3 and Year 5 with very additional needs. This is a rewarding but challenging role supporting pupils with complex additional needs within a primary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, tailored support that enables pupils to access learning and feel safe and supported within the classroom. The role will involve working on both a 1:1 basis and within small group settings, supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing dedicated support for pupils with complex SEN needs * Supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and behavioural challenges * Implementing EHCP targets and personalised support strategies * Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management * Adapting classroom activities and resources to meet individual needs * Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils Requirements * Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant * Strong SEN experience supporting children with complex/additional needs is essential * A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable) * Excellent behaviour management and communication skills * Patient, resilient and nurturing approach * Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: * Be confident supporting pupils with high levels of additional needs * Demonstrate empathy, patience and resilience * Be proactive and adaptable within the classroom * Work effectively with teaching staff and SEN professionals * Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential About Supply Heroes: * Excellent rates of pay on PAYE * Around the clock support whenever you need it * Commitment to a quality of service and safeguarding * Support with any interviews and lesson observations * Transparency and honesty * Exclusive job roles around the West Midlands If you are interested in this role, please apply now with your CV.
