Technical Estimator

Inspire Resourcing Ltd are recruiting for a Technical Estimator. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Technical Estimator to join a manufacturing business in Chesterfield. This role will involve supporting international sales activity by producing high‑quality, technically specifications. Working at the intersection of sales, engineering and supply chain, you will analyse client requirements, define project scopes and develop accurate cost models to ensure proposals are both deliverable and profitable. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed technical and commercial Spec's creating 2D and 3D drawings * Analyse customer specifications, requirements and contractual documentation * Develop accurate cost estimates aligned with margin, risk and delivery expectations * Define clear scopes of work, including assumptions, exclusions and identified risks * Collaborate with engineering teams to develop compliant technical solutions * Liaise with supply chain and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times and technical input * Support the full bid lifecycle from initial enquiry through to project handover * Contribute to proposal strategy, value propositions and marketing initiatives * Maintain and improve proposal tools, templates and cost models * Capture lessons learned to support continuous improvement Key Accountabilities * Deliver high‑quality, compliant and competitive estimates * Provide timely and effective support to the global sales team * Ensure estimates are commercially viable and technically sound * Support smooth transition from bid phase to project execution * Drive improvements in proposal processes and methodologies About You * Demonstrable skills in proposals engineering, estimating or bid development * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to build accurate cost models * Ability to interpret technical specifications and develop practical solutions * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines * Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, sales and supply chain teams The Package: * Competitive salary and benefits package (up to 55K DOE) * Opportunity to work on global projects * Collaborative and supportive working environment * Clear career development pathways within a growing international business Hours: Days Location: Chesterfield - Office based role
