Job Title: Headteacher Salary: £86,803 - £95,735 (L22 - L26) per annum, depending on qualifications and experience Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time Location: Coalville, Leciestershire Start date: As early as April 2026 or as of then This School is opening its doors in late 2026 and we're looking for an exceptional Headteacher to help lead and develop this exciting new provision. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative. This school will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious hub for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Communication and Interaction. With a capacity of 120 students across 3 sites, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive. The role: As Headteacher, you'll initially work with our central teams and senior leaders to shape our new school, putting your stamp on the school's ethos, culture and strategic direction from the ground up. You will be instrumental in the recruitment and building of your entire team and the design and implementation of a brand-new curriculum in line with the trusts values. In line with all Headteacher roles; you will ultimately be accountable for all areas of operational and educational performance within the school, as well as the financial performance and management of education and support staff. To achieve in this role, you will be someone who inspires creativity and collaboration, a strong leader and a passionate advocate for your students, with a track record of school improvements and finding ways to deliver educational outcomes that make a real difference to each student. Skills and Qualifications Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following: * Qualified Teacher Status with further professional qualification in a relevant area. Candidates with Headteacher qualification (such as NPQH) or a willingness to gain such a qualification preferred. * Experience of working as a senior leader within an SEN environment * A clear understanding of Ofsted frameworks and Safeguarding legislation in relation to independent schools. * Quality assurance experience * Team management experience. * Superb communication and stakeholder management skills Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.
