You will play a key role in modelling complex battlespace environments and defence systems, enabling engineering teams to validate capabilities within safe, realistic scenarios. This role offers the opportunity to improve simulation performance, enhance operational readiness, reduce development risk, and accelerate delivery of critical capabilities using modern software engineering and simulation technologies.Core duties:You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions in line with project requirementsYou will produce clear, well-structured, and maintainable software designsYou will deliver robust and reliable software solutions suitable for operational useYou will undertake testing activities to ensure software quality, performance, and complianceYou will maintain and enhance existing software, resolving defects and implementing new featuresEssential Skills:You will hold a degree (BEng/BSc) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related numerate disciplineYou will have proven experience in at least one high-level programming language; C++, C#, Java, or Ada are highly desirableYou will have adequate experience across the full software development lifecycle, with knowledge of methodologies such as Agile and WaterfallYou will have a solid understanding of configuration managementprinciples, with experience using configuration management toolsYou will have knowledge of networking concepts, including switches and routersThe MIMESIS Team:The MIMESIS Product Team develops advanced maritime battlespace simulation software, modelling environmental conditions, platform behaviour, and complex systems such as sonar, radar, and weapons.
