Cook – Luxury Retirement Home – Part Time – AV2041A
Location: Kilgetty, Pembrokeshire
Pay Rate: £13.56 per hour
Hours: 22 hours per week
We are currently recruiting for a Cook to join a friendly and supportive residential care environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team supporting older adults.
Established in the 1980s, this friendly and welcoming service has grown from a small home supporting just a handful of residents into a respected care provider supporting up to 21 residents within a comfortable and homely environment. The service prides itself on delivering high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining a warm family atmosphere for both residents and staff.
This role is based within a care setting, so we are ideally looking for candidates who live locally and can reliably travel to and from work each day.
The Role
As Cook, you will be responsible for the daily preparation of fresh, balanced meals for residents, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation at all times.
Main Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve appetising and nutritious meals, including dessert, daily
• Offer at least two main meal options for lunch
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe, and hygienic at all times
• Follow all cleaning schedules and kitchen rota duties
• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Monitor stock levels weekly and place orders with suppliers
• Report any kitchen faults or equipment issues promptly
• Adhere to food hygiene regulations and fire safety procedures
About You
• Previous catering or cooking experience is desirable (training can be provided)
• A genuine interest in working with older people
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team
• Reliable, organised, and proactive approach
