Overview

Monitoring and analysing the performance of our UK solar farm fleet.

The Position

As a Solar Asset Monitor in the Analysis and Operations team, you will monitor the outputs of our solar farms, detect and diagnose faults, and coordinate technical responses to ensure reliable generation.

Hours

Full‑time, up to 40 hours per week. Schedule: May – Sep 07:30–18:00; remainder of year 08:00–16:30. Weekends may be required on a flexible rota.

Accountabilities

• Monitor the solar farm fleet using monitoring software and bespoke tools.
• Follow standard procedures to detect, analyse and diagnose fault events.
• Organise dispatch of technical resources during weekends to repair faults.
• Track events through to resolution.
• Update and administer system data.
• Support O & M and local Control Centre in emergency response.

Knowledge

• Solar photovoltaic installations and components.
• Software systems for monitoring asset performance.
• Electrical knowledge (training provided).
• Technical knowledge of inverters (training provided).
• Power electronics and Gamesa inverter troubleshooting.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain attention for long periods in a dynamic environment.
• Proactive decision-making.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to write to and follow strict operational procedures.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in monitoring, control, or dispatch.
• SCADA experience.
• Experience with basic data analysis tools.
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to NVQ Level 3.
• English at C1 level or higher.
