About the role

White Label have a very exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering client of ours based in the Ulverston/Lancaster area. The company specialises in the subsea, marine, diving, defence, offshore energy and aquaculture sectors. They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, taking products and systems from concept to customer, alongside refining and upgrading current solutions. Package: * Salary depending on level of experience * Holidays: 26 days plus 8 bank holidays * Birthday off work * 4 day working week * 38 hours * Adhoc working from home * Concept design projects * Opportunity to take ownership of projects * Friendly working environment * Low turnover in staff * Manufacture onsite so you can see the products you design Key Responsibilities for Design Engineer * Mechanical design on major projects using Solidworks * Lead innovation on new product development * Support the production team to improve product quality and process * Face clients requiring technical support or custom solutions * Production of manufacturing data, including mechanical drawings, bills-of material and assembly procedures. * Management of component fabrication and assembly, including liaison with external fabricators. * Liaison with customers to identify their design requirements, create detailed specifications and to ensure their requirements are achieved. * Individual project management * Testing of systems and subsystems, including preparation of test procedures and test records. * You will be leading projects to define and develop new products. This will involve concept design, through 3D modelling and prototyping, to incorporate the functional design requirements with aesthetics and company branding. * You will then take the design on to manufacture, with production of technical drawings, bills-of-material, and assembly procedures, for both in-house manufacture and external fabrication. Requirements * Must have a Mechanical Design Engineering background * 3D CAD skills – Solidworks preference but would consider Inventor backgrounds * Decision making ability & Planning * Competent in Microsoft Office packages * Full UK working rights/business isn't in a position to offer sponsorship * Full clean UK driving licence This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing company.
