Monday to Friday
Rotating shifts between 7:00am and 7:30pm
Job Purpose
We are recruiting a Laboratory Technician to support testing and analysis activities within a busy, quality-focused laboratory environment. This role plays a key part in assisting laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing, compliance with procedures, and timely reporting of results. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for a long-term career within laboratory testing and materials analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, handling, and testing samples in line with laboratory procedures and standards
Operating and maintaining laboratory testing equipment
Recording test results accurately and inputting data into laboratory systems
Ensuring all work complies with quality, health & safety, and environmental requirements
Supporting senior technicians and analysts with routine laboratory tasks
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment
Reporting any equipment faults, non-conformances, or safety concerns
Adhering to turnaround times and supporting workflow demands
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience working in a laboratory or testing environment (desirable but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
Basic understanding of health & safety within a laboratory setting
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work rotating shifts
Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science, Maths or a related subject (desirable)
Relevant laboratory qualification or on-the-job laboratory experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
