About the role
Geography Teacher – Wakefield | September Start
Ready to put your stamp on a thriving Humanities department?
We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield that’s looking for a passionate Geography Teacher to join them this September. Whether you’re an ECT finding your feet or an experienced teacher ready for a new chapter, this is a brilliant opportunity to teach in a school where you’ll feel genuinely supported.
Why this school?
This isn’t a “sink or swim” environment. You’ll be joining a collaborative team with a supportive SLT who are visible, approachable, and invested in staff wellbeing. There’s a real sense of community here, the kind where people look out for each other and celebrate the small wins as much as the big ones.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be delivering engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, bringing topics to life and sparking curiosity about the world. The department is well-resourced, schemes of work are in place, and there’s plenty of room for you to bring your own ideas into the classroom.
What we’re looking for:
A qualified teacher with a specialism in Geography
Open to both ECTs and experienced teachers
Someone who brings energy, creativity, and a genuine love for their subject
A team player who values collaboration and positive relationships
What’s in it for you?
A supportive induction for ECTs with strong mentoring
Ongoing CPD and development opportunities
A positive school culture where staff voice matters
A chance to be part of a school that’s moving forward with confidence
If you’re looking for a role where you can grow, feel valued, and make a real difference day to day, this could be the perfect fit.
