Our client, a leading defence and security organisation, is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to join its growing Data Link Systems team in Bristol or Stevenage. This permanent role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of advanced RF communication systems supporting high-performance weapons systems across the full product lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Contributing to the research, concept development, design and production of RF data link systemsManaging requirements and supporting systems design activities across the product lifecycleParticipating in or leading technical design reviews and producing clear engineering documentationSupporting system-level functionality proving, including software and firmware integrationCoordinating the transition of development hardware into production, including environmental and qualification testingWorking with external suppliers in collaboration with procurement teamsProviding technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers where appropriateCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information to internal and external stakeholdersJob Requirements:Experience in systems engineering, RF engineering, microwave engineering or a related technical disciplineKnowledge of RF and microwave systems, with an interest in developing advanced RF communications capabilityUnderstanding of requirements management, systems design and systems modellingFamiliarity with antenna systems, waveform design and implementationKnowledge of system-level RF modelling and real-time digital signal processing for high-bandwidth systemsExperience with modelling, autocode generation, signal processing or research based on technical publicationsUnderstanding of software and firmware integration, system proving, design certification and product qualificationStrong communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality technical reports and presentationsSecurity Requirements:Applicants must be British citizens or dual UK nationals holding British citizenship. Successful applicants will be required to undergo HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks after offer stage.
