About the role
Main Purpose of the Role
To support the planning and coordination of transport operations and internal processes. This includes ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate data management, and effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of transport and planning procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Transport & Planning Duties
* Provide administrative support to the transport and processing teams.
* Assist with delivery planning and scheduling.
* Liaise with transport providers, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate customer orders.
* Monitor systems and communicate any delays to relevant departments.
* Support the tracking and reporting of transport KPIs.
* Learn to investigate and resolve discrepancies, delays, and service issues.
* Participate in stock takes where transport planning input is required.
* Demonstrate a positive attitude to learning, with a confident telephone manner and willingness to develop within the role.
Process Planning (Support Role)
* Assist the Process/Cutting Foreman in planning daily cutting and processing schedules.
* Support shift handovers by clearly communicating relevant planning information.
* Help ensure cutting notes and job instructions are accurate and available.
* Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are prepared in advance, maximising equipment utilisation.
* Monitor cutting activity progress and report any delays or issues.
* Maintain accurate records of processed materials and completed work.
* Support stock control processes, ensuring materials are handled in line with procedures.
* Work closely with warehouse and stock control teams to ensure correct material availability and sequencing.
* Assist with stock checks and inventory accuracy within the processing area.
* Promote safe working practices and report any concerns.
Health & Safety (ISO 45001:2018)
* Work in accordance with all fire, health, and safety regulations.
* Ensure your actions do not put yourself or others at risk.
* Attend health and safety meetings as required.
* Report accidents, incidents, and any concerns to your line manager.
Quality Assurance (ISO 9001)
* Comply with all quality assurance systems and procedures.
* Support QA-related tasks as directed by your line manager.
* Seek clarification on any quality-related matters when required.
Additional Duties
* Undertake any other duties within your capabilities as directed by management.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
* Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to support your development.
* Maintain a professional approach, taking pride in your work and adhering to company policies and procedures
