Advanced Steel Detailer/ Draughtsman

Advanced Steel Draughtsman Location: Hitchin Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum Job Type: Full time, office based (5 days per week) We are seeking an experienced Advanced Steel Draughtsman to join our team in Hitchin. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in architectural and structural steelwork to contribute to a collaborative and high performing environment. Requirements * Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience using Autodesk Advanced Steel * Proven experience in architectural steel, structural steel and building envelope interfaces * Strong ability to produce accurate 3D models and detailed drawings for approval, fabrication and installation * Experience coordinating with clients, engineers, project managers and fabrication teams Key Responsibilities * Interpret design intent from architects’ drawings alongside Contracts Managers * Produce general arrangement drawings and typical details for client approval and structural engineer review * Revise drawings in line with client feedback and engineering requirements * Prepare and issue fabrication drawings including single parts, assemblies, installation drawings and bills of materials Ongoing Duties * Liaise with Contracts Managers and workshop teams to resolve fabrication, assembly and site queries * Collaborate with the design team to support peer reviews and continuous improvement * Manage document control platforms and track approval statuses * Maintain internal KPI and project timing data Skills and Experience * Strong competency in Autodesk Advanced Steel * Good understanding of steel fabrication processes * Knowledge of site installation requirements and constraints * Familiarity with steel standards, grades and relevant building regulations * Effective communication skills and a team focused approach Benefits * Competitive salary of £45,000 to £50,000 * 28 days holiday * NEST pension scheme If you are a motivated draughtsman looking to develop your career within a supportive and technically driven environment, we would like to hear from you
