Senior Technologist (Horticulture)

This is a front-line, customer-facing position where you will sit right at the intersection of product, people, and performance—driving quality, influencing outcomes, and helping shape the future of a highly respected UK horticultural business. You’ll be the technical voice to key retail customers, ensuring products are not just compliant but exceptional. The Role – What You’ll Be Doing * Acting as the lead technical contact for key customers * Owning product specifications—making sure they are accurate, achievable, and commercially viable * Working cross-functionally with NPD, production, and plant care teams * Leading pre-productions and product launches with confidence * Investigating, reporting, and reducing customer complaints * Driving continuous improvement across quality, shelf-life, and performance * Visiting growers and suppliers to ensure standards are delivered from source * Supporting and developing junior technologists What We’re Looking For * Strong technical experience in horticulture / fresh produce / glasshouse production * Solid understanding of customer requirements, specifications, and audits * Knowledge of plant passporting, imports/exports, and compliance * A confident communicator—comfortable presenting to customers and stakeholders * Detail-focused, organised, and commercially aware * Someone who doesn’t just manage problems—but solves them and improves systems Why This Role? * Work with a business that is highly regarded in its sector * Genuine opportunity to influence customers and internal strategy * Be part of a team that values quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement * A role where your impact is visible and valued Interested?
