About the role
We are seeking an experienced and organised Transport Supervisor to oversee daily transport operations, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and high levels of customer service and initiating a project to make routing more efficient based in Reading.

The rate of pay is £36,000 per annum This is a full-time role working fixed shifts, Monday to Friday, and the hours of work are:
- 7am to 5pm Your Time at Work As a Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day transport activities
- Maintain the Operating License
- Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with all UK transport legislation, including drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
- Monitor vehicle utilisation, maintenance schedules, and defect reporting
- Manage and support a team of drivers, including performance monitoring and training
- Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and external partners
- Handle transport-related issues, delays, and customer queries
- Maintain accurate records and prepare operational reports Our Perfect Worker Our perfect worker will have the following skills:
- Must be able to drive and ideally up to 7.5T
- Previous experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role
- Good knowledge of UK transport laws and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification (desirable)
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Experience working in food or FMCG would be great!
- Must have good all round Microsoft office skills Key Information and Benefits
