Step into a pivotal leadership opportunity where you will shape, transform and lead a critical frontline service. As Head of Brokerage, you will report into senior leadership and take full operational ownership of a high‑impact service that connects people with the right care, at the right time, and at the right value. You will lead a specialist Placements and Quality team, hold responsibility for significant commissioned spend, and play a defining role in a major transformation programme that will set the future direction of brokerage services.
This is a role for a confident, credible leader who thrives in complexity, can balance pace with quality, and is motivated by improving outcomes for residents while maintaining strong financial control. As Head of Brokerage, you will be at the heart of strategic change, market engagement and high‑value decision‑making, with real influence across social care, commissioning and transformation colleagues.
Your role as Head of Brokerage:
Lead high‑quality, person‑centred brokerage, ensuring the best outcomes and value for money
• Drive the brokerage transformation programme, reshaping processes, systems and governance
• Take control of high‑value negotiations and complex provider relationships
• Provide strong financial oversight of placements and care packages
• Build a high‑performing, motivated team with clear standards and accountability
Your previous experience as Head of Brokerage:
Proven leadership of complex change programmes within social care or a similar environment
• Strong background in commissioning, procurement and market management
• Demonstrable success in commercial negotiation and supplier relationship management
• Experience managing significant budgets, performance and cost improvement
• Credibility working with senior leaders, Members and external partners
You will be trusted to manage politically sensitive issues, advise on risk, and ensure services meet all professional, legislative and safeguarding standards. You will also be a visible leader, influencing practice, championing continuous improvement and ensuring brokerage intelligence informs wider strategic planning.
