Business Studies Teacher Location: Basildon area, Essex Start: September 2026 (or earlier if available) Contract: Permanent, full time Salary: MPS to UPS (Outer London fringe equivalent) Ethos Education is recruiting a Business Studies Teacher for a secondary school in the Basildon area. This is a full time, permanent role starting in September 2026. The school is well organised, with a strong uptake in Business Studies at both GCSE and A Level. The department is stable, with shared planning and a consistent approach, so you are not building everything from scratch. There is also a clear focus on staff wellbeing. Planning is collaborative, expectations are consistent and workload is kept manageable. The role • Teaching Business Studies at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 • Preparing students for GCSE and A Level Business • Delivering clear, structured lessons with strong subject knowledge • Contributing to shared planning and departmental resources • Supporting student progress and outcomes across the subject The candidate • Qualified Teacher Status • Degree in Business, Economics or a related subject • Experience teaching Business Studies at KS4 and ideally KS5 • Able to explain concepts clearly and keep lessons focused • Comfortable working within a collaborative department What you’ll notice • A department where resources are shared and expectations are clear • Students who opt into Business at KS5 and engage with the subject • Leadership that focuses on consistency • A genuine effort to keep workload reasonable and predictable Why apply If you want to teach Business properly, including A Level, in a school where systems are already in place and the department works together, this is a solid role.
