About the role

RolePurposeAdaptationsSurveyor Todeliverahighlyeffective,responsiveandprofessionaladaptationsserviceandtoensurethatallworkiscompletedtoahighstandard.Thismustbeachievedwithinspecifiedtimetargets,andonbudget,whilstensuringthatthecustomeriscentraltoallworkundertaken.Youwillprovideaneffectivesurveyingserviceforpropertiesrequiringanadaptationforadisabledoccupant.Youwillalsoberequiredtoassesstheconditionofthepropertyforsuitabilityandfeasibilityofadaptation.Whereappropriateyouwillbeexpectedtoidentifybuildingdefects,todiagnosecauses,andtospecifyremedies.Youwillalsosupportacultureofcontinuousserviceimprovement.

MainResponsibilitiesAdaptationsSurveyor Toadviseserviceusersandcolleaguesonschemes/theirfeasibilityandtoprepareschemedesigns.

Tomanageandmonitorbothlargeandsmallscaleprojectstoensuresuccessfulcompletionanddeliveryonschedule.

Todeterminetheconditionofexistingbuildingsandtoidentifyandanalysedefectswhichwillormayaffectanyproposedadaptations.

TopreparedocumentsforDisabledFacilitiesGrantapplicationsasrequired.

TocarryoutpreandpostworksinspectionstoensurethespecifiedworksareundertakentocontractstandardsandinaccordancewiththeOccupationalTherapistsrecommendations.

ToprepareschedulesofworksspecificationsandAuto-Caddrawingsthatcanbeissuedtothecontractors.

Toliaisewithourserviceusers,theirrepresentatives,statutoryauthorities,andcontractorsregardingqueriesrelatingtoworksundertakenorplanned.

Workcloselywithandco-ordinatewithvariousprofessionalbodiestoensurethatworkisundertakeninamannercommensuratewithallstatutoryrequirementsandcurrentlegislatione.g.H&S,CDM,PartyWallActlegislation.

Tomaintainuptodateknowledgeofbuildingmethods,developmentsandrelatedproducts.

Toactivelyparticipateinteammeetingstolookatnewwaysofworking,improvingoutcomesandbestpracticestandardstohelptothedevelopmentoftheservice.

Toexerciseresponsibilitiesunderhealthandsafetyatworkactaslaiddown,orasmaybeamendedfromtimetotime,bydepartmentalprocedures.

Tocontinueprofessionaldevelopmentbyundertakingmandatorytrainingandothertrainingidentifiedinlinewithidentifiedneeds ThispositionwillrequirethepostholdertoundergoaDBScheck(DisclosureandBarringService).

Knowledge/SkillsAdaptationsSurveyor Experienceofdeliveringdisabledadaptationsprojectswithinagreedtimescalesandwithqualityoutcomes,includingeffectiveplanning,managingandmonitoringprogramsofwork.

KnowledgeofthelegislativeandproceduralframeworkswithinwhichtheDisabledFacilitiesGrantsoperate.

Abilitytoplananddeliverbuildingworksincludingeffectiveplanning,managingandmonitoringprogramsofworkfordisabledoccupants GoodknowledgeofBuildingRegulations,asbestosawarenessandHealth&Safetylegislation.

HavetheabilitytomonitorandinterpretKPIdataaswellasusethedatatoassessthecontractorsperformance.

Havetheabilitytoco-ordinateonesownworkload,manageconflictingprioritiesinapressurisedworkenvironmenttomeetdeadlines.
