Principal Mechanical Engineer Remote £60,000 – £70,000 The Role This is a position suited to an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can take ownership of project delivery, provide technical leadership, and support the development of both clients and internal teams. Key responsibilities include: Leading the design and delivery of mechanical building services across residential projects Overseeing projects from concept through to detailed design and construction stages Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, and technical documentation Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, and other consultants Driving sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standardThe Ideal Candidate Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or similar) Minimum 8 years’ experience within a building services consultancy Strong background in residential project delivery Proven experience in leading projects and managing clients Excellent understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projectsWhat’s on Offer £60,000–£70,000 salary (depending on experience) Fully remote working Opportunity to take a lead role within a growing consultancy Exposure to a strong pipeline of residential projects Supportive, collaborative culture with a focus on quality and innovationThis is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer looking for autonomy, leadership responsibility, and the chance to contribute to high-quality, sustainable building design.
