Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a knowledgeable and engaging Social Sciences Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to teach within a supportive department and contribute to a growing subject area.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons across a range of social science subjects, such as Sociology, Psychology, and/or Criminology, inspiring students to think critically about the world around them.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Social Sciences lessons across KS4 and KS5
Teach subjects such as Sociology, Psychology, or related disciplines
Encourage critical thinking, analysis, and discussion in the classroom
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support achievement
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in Sociology, Psychology, or a related subject
Experience teaching Social Sciences at secondary level (KS4/KS5 preferred)
Strong subject knowledge across one or more disciplines
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Passion for education and student development
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
