School Caretaker- Shrewsbury

We are currently seeking experienced School Caretakers to work across a range of Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools in the Shrewsbury area. These roles require dependable, hands-on individuals who are confident managing school sites and maintaining a safe, secure environment. This position is ideal for candidates who are practical, self-sufficient, and able to take full ownership of site responsibilities from the outset. Key Responsibilities: Opening and securing school buildings, including alarm setting and checks Carrying out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep Ensuring the site remains compliant with health & safety regulations Performing routine inspections and identifying/reporting any issues Liaising with external contractors and monitoring on-site work Maintaining outdoor areas, pathways, and general site appearance Assisting with room setups, deliveries, and school events as needed Monitoring site systems including heating, lighting, and security Requirements: Proven experience as a School Caretaker, Site Supervisor, or similar role Strong knowledge of school health & safety procedures Ability to undertake a range of maintenance and DIY tasks independently Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload Professional, reliable, and committed approach to work Important Information: No training will be provided - applicants must be fully experienced An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is highly desirable Candidates without a DBS must be willing to obtain and fund their own Enhanced DBS check Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
