Junior CAD Technician

Junior CAD Technician – Precision Engineering, £26,000 - £30,000, Leicester * £26,000 - £30,000 salary guide (depending on experience) + company benefits + good progression opportunities. * Leicester-based role, working onsite within a precision engineering environment. * Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 with an early finish Friday! Some flexibility with working hours. Are you trainee Mechanical Engineer, CAD Engineer or CAD technician, looking to work on high-precision, world-class products? Your background as a Junior CAD Technician: * Ideally HNC / Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar * Experience using CAD software (e.g. SolidEdge, Creo or similar) * Exposure to engineering drawings, GD&T and Bills of Materials * Some experience within precision manufacturing or similar environments * Strong attention to detail with a structured and organised approach Junior CAD Technician responsibilities: * Maintaining and updating existing CAD files and drawings rather than purely new design work. * Supporting senior engineers by refining models, reapplying dimensions, and ensuring drawings are accurate and up to date * Carrying out detailed checks and “sanity checking” of designs, cross-referencing information to ensure consistency and accuracy * Developing iterative updates and revisions, where attention to detail is key * Taking initiative to spot errors, inconsistencies, or improvements within existing designs and documentation This Junior CAD Technician role is commutable from Leicester, Loughborough, Anstey, Birstall, Syston, Melton Mowbray, Thurmaston, Leicestershire and surrounding areas.
