Battery Test Engineer

Battery Test Engineer, £25-£30 per hour, Automotive Electrification & Battery Testing, Commutable from Coventry, Hinckley, Leicester, Birmingham, Rugby * Work at the forefront of automotive EV battery testing! * 12-month contract role, up to £30.00 per hour (Inside IR35 basis). * Role would suit somebody with experience of working within a Test Engineer, Project Engineer, Development Engineer, or similar engineering role. * Battery testing experience is advantageous. We are looking for a highly motivated Test Engineer to work at the cutting edge of battery safety and abuse testing. You will act as the key link between the customer and the engineering test team, making sure tests run safely, smoothly, and to the highest standard. Your background as a Test Engineer : * Strong technical background in engineering or testing (battery or automotive testing experience desirable). * Clear communicator who can confidently liaise with both customers and technical teams. * Detail-oriented with a focus on data quality, safety, and compliance. * You will be degree qualified in an automotive engineering or similar mechanical engineering or electrical engineering discipline. * A full UK driving licence is essential. Test Engineer Responsibilities : * Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and internal engineering teams, offering guidance and technical advice on all aspects of battery abuse testing. * Support the planning, set-up, and, execution of battery testing. * Review and approve all test setups prior to them starting. * Ensure test data is captured, reviewed, and validated. * Maintain all supporting test documentation, including Work Instructions and Risk Assessments. This Test Engineer role is commutable from Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham, Tamworth, Rugby, Hinckley, Warwick, Northampton, Leamington Spa and surrounding areas.
