The Role We are seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading a busy, fresh-food kitchen. You will play a key role in maintaining high culinary standards, driving consistency, and contributing to menu development using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

Key Responsibilities Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of all dishes
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
Assist with menu development using seasonal and local produce
Manage stock control, ordering, and waste reduction
Ensure smooth service across lunch, dinner, and events
Train, support and mentorjunior kitchen staff
Work closely with front-of-house to deliver a seamless guest experience
Requirements Minimum 2 years experience in a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie role
Strong experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients
Confident, hands-on approach in a busy kitchen environment
Pastry knowledge is a strong advantage (but not essential)
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to maintain high standards under pressure
Passion for locally sourced food and modern British cuisine
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
