We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Tractor / Trailer Field Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty farm machinery, industrial equipment, and commercial vehicle systems directly in the field. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet remains operational, safe, and efficient across various job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, utilize advanced diagnostics, and deliver top-tier service to keep operations running smoothly. All tools and equipment are provided but they do remain as company property.

*Responsibilities*

* Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on tractors, trailers, and heavy equipment using schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
* Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brake systems, and other critical vehicle components.
* Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques to meet operational demands.
* Maintain and repair farm machinery and other heavy-duty machinery ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Troubleshoot perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately for efficient repairs.
* Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols while providing excellent service on-site or in the field.

*Skills*

* Proven experience working as a mechanic background preferred - minimum Level 2, inc car knowledge.
* Strong knowledge of tractor & harvesting trailers.
* Computer literate and to enable maintenance and safety records are kept up to date.
* Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repairs.
* Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of using power tools safely and effectively.
* Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery and automotive repair with a focus on vehicle maintenance and assembly.
* Ability to lift heavy components safely during tire service or equipment repair; excellent problem-solving skills with electrical experience a plus.
* Strong communication skills; capable of working independently in the field while maintaining safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.70-£15.32 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 70 per week
