Quality Engineer
Rugby
£35,000 – £45,000
Mon–Thu 7:30am–4:00pm | Fri 7:30am–1:30pm
We are working with a well-established engineering organisation within the power and industrial sector who are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their workshop operation in Rugby.
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are maintained across projects and manufacturing processes.
The Role
As Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring products, components and documentation meet required standards while supporting continuous improvement across the workshop.
Responsibilities include:
* Carrying out component and product inspections to specification
* Supporting APQP, NPI and FMEA processes
* Producing First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102)
* Developing and maintaining Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
* Investigating non-conformances and conducting root cause analysis (8D, A3, 5 Whys)
* Supporting internal, external and customer audits
* Monitoring and reporting quality metrics and performance
* Working closely with production teams to embed quality throughout the manufacturing process
* Conducting supplier visits and audits where required
The Candidate
We are looking for a Quality Engineer with experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
You will ideally have:
* An electrical or mechanical engineering background
* Previous experience working in a production / workshop environment
* Experience using mechanical measuring equipment
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards
* Experience investigating quality issues using structured problem-solving methods
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement

Security Clearance Requirement
Due to the sensitive nature of our client’s work, this role will require Security Check (SC) clearance and may involve additional vetting. Our client will support the clearance process; however, only candidates who are eligible for SC clearance can be considered, which normally requires applicants to be UK nationals
