leadership for UCL's engagement with corporate and industry partners, creating and implementing a University-wide strategy to grow philanthropic income and long-term strategic, philanthropic partnerships.The postholder will establish and lead a new team responsible for securing philanthropic investment from corporate partners at all levels of giving, while working collaboratively across UCL to develop and deepen relationships that deliver mutual benefit for the University and its partners.Working closely with Faculties, academic leaders, VP offices and Professional Services colleagues, the Director will identify opportunities where corporate philanthropy can accelerate research, education, innovation, student opportunity and societal impact.Alongside providing strategic leadership, the Director will personally manage a portfolio of the University's highest-value corporate relationships and contribute as a member of the Development senior leadership team.Key accountabilitiesFundraising and Relationship ManagementLead and oversee the strategic cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of UCL's corporate and industry partners, securing philanthropic investment at all levels of giving.Personally manage a portfolio of major corporate relationships.Develop creative engagement strategies that build long-term relationships with companies, industry leaders and corporate foundations.Work with academic leaders to identify compelling opportunities for philanthropic investment that align with corporate priorities and societal challenges.Partner closely with the Director of Principal Giving & International where corporate partners have capacity for transformational philanthropic investment.Work collaboratively across Advancement to ensure coordinated cultivation where companies also have senior alumni or principal giving interests.Represent UCL in meetings with senior corporate executives, boards and industry leaders.Ensure robust pipeline management and accurate recording of all fundraising activity.Strategy, Leadership and ManagementDevelop and implement UCL's institutional strategy for corporate philanthropy and engagement.Establish and lead a new Corporate Partnerships team, building capability, processes and culture from the ground up.Create a high-performing, entrepreneurial and collaborative team focused on delivering ambitious growth.Develop frameworks for working effectively with Faculties and other VP offices, such as Innovation & Enterprise, Global Engagement, Research & Innovation Services.Identify opportunities to coordinate philanthropy within wider institutional engagement, whilst ensuring philanthropic activity remains donor-led and aligned with UCL's values.Set KPIs, monitor performance and provide regular strategic reporting to the Vice-President (Advancement) and Executive Director of Development.Contribute to the strategic leadership of the Advancement office, and play a key role in campaign planning and delivery.Position UCL as a leading university partner for corporate philanthropy.Build relationships with senior business leaders and influential corporate networks.Foster interdisciplinary collaborations that create attractive opportunities for corporate investment.Advise senior University leadership on trends and opportunities in corporate philanthropy.Work with colleagues across Advancement to deliver an integrated supporter experience.About youSignificant experience developing and securing strategic partnerships with corporate or industry organisations.Proven track record of securing major philanthropic support and/or strategic investment from companies.Demonstrable success building or transforming teams and functions.Experience managing senior corporate relationships and negotiating complex partnerships.Experience influencing senior stakeholders across complex organisations.Strong understanding of corporate philanthropy, CSR, ESG and strategic partnerships.Experience managing complex fundraising or business development portfolios.Outstanding strategic thinking and commercial awareness.Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills.Excellent negotiation and partnership development skills.Ability to identify emerging market opportunities and translate them into
