About the role

£26k - £32k p.a.

Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.

A graduate role for engineers who want a commercial career without leaving the technical detail behind. You'll be the link between our customers and our engineering team, turning enquiries into quotations for precision-machined PTFE, PEEK, PCTFE and other high-performance polymer components used in aerospace, defence, motorsport, oil and gas and industrial markets.

This is a customer-facing role combining technical and commercial skills, not a pure desk-based sales job.

What you'll be doing

Managing incoming customer enquiries from initial receipt through to quotation. Reviewing engineering drawings, understanding customer specifications, and liaising with production and engineering teams on feasibility, materials and lead times. Working directly with customers on new project development, advising on material selection and design for manufacture.

You'll be reading drawings (tolerances, GD&T, surface finish), undertaking CAD work to support technical discussions, using AI tools to improve quoting efficiency and customer workflows, maintaining CRM records, and supporting the sales team with market research and target sector development. Excel will be a daily tool for pricing models, cost breakdowns and sales reporting.

What we're looking for

A 2:2 or above degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Design Engineering or a related discipline. The ability to read engineering drawings is essential, as are strong Excel skills. Beyond that, we're looking for confident communicators with commercial instincts, the discipline to manage multiple enquiries at once, and a genuine interest in how AI and digital tools can sharpen technical sales.

Full training will be provided on our materials, processes and quoting procedures.

Useful but not essential

CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar), exposure to CNC machining or precision manufacturing, CRM or ERP system experience, or any background in engineering plastics or fluoropolymers.

Why AFT Fluorotec

Our customers come to us because they need precision components that perform in demanding environments where standard parts fail. That makes technical credibility the foundation of every customer conversation. You'll learn how to scope work properly, price it accurately, and build relationships with engineers who specify components for some of the most demanding applications in UK manufacturing. xwzovoh

It's a strong start for any graduate who wants to build a career in technical sales, application engineering, or commercial leadership in advanced manufacturing.
