About the Role

As a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, SEMH, speech & language needs, and complex needs
  • Work across primary, secondary, or specialist school settings
  • Help pupils engage with learning, manage behaviour, and build confidence
  • Make a real difference to students’ academic and emotional development

You’ll be placed in schools across Brighton and surrounding areas, with opportunities tailored to your interests.

About You

We’re looking for graduates who are:

  • Passionate about working with children or young people
  • Interested in education, SEND, or mental health
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient
  • Confident supporting behaviour and building relationships
  • Eager to learn and develop professionally

Requirements:

  • A university degree (within the last 5 years)
  • Experience with children is desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Driver preferred but not essential

Psychology graduates are especially encouraged to apply.
