Mechanical Fitter Southampton £33,000 Basic + Shift Enhancements (OTE circa £40,000) Continental Shifts | Long Weekends Every Week Tired of working every Monday? Earn up to £40,000 Starting salary of £33,000 with regular shift enhancements that can take your earnings to around £40,000. The Role As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing specialist rail vehicles. Your day-to-day work will include: Mechanical maintenance and inspections Fault finding and repairs Component replacement Brake testing Structural and heavy mechanical repairs If you've worked in vehicle maintenance, heavy plant, agricultural machinery, rolling stock or similar mechanical environments, your experience will transfer well into this position. Shift Pattern Continental shifts (days and nights): 4 day shifts (Tuesday to Friday) Followed by a 3-day weekend 3 night shifts (Tuesday to Thursday) Followed by a 4-day weekend In other words, you'll never work a Monday. What You'll Need Previous hands-on mechanical fitting experience Engineering, fabrication, welding or production qualifications (Level 2 or 3 desirable but not essential) Ability to pass a Drugs & Alcohol screening and medical assessment About the Company Ganymede is recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering and logistics organisation based within Southampton Docks.
