Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bridlington
Salary: £40K-£60K (DOE) + £6.5K-£7.5K Car Allowance + Annual bonus
Overview
An established organisation within the construction sector is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial control across projects, supporting efficient delivery, and maximising value throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
Procure subcontractors in line with programme requirements and internal policies
Administer subcontract agreements and manage contractual obligations
Assess subcontractor applications accurately and issue payment notices in a timely manner
Prepare and submit external valuations in accordance with contract requirements
Manage and forecast project valuations through to final account agreement
Measure quantities from drawings and on-site where required
Evaluate and manage variations and provisional sums, ensuring accurate cost control
Oversee weekly payments for direct labour and plant subcontractors (where applicable)
Produce internal valuations, cost value reconciliations, and subcontract liabilities in line with reporting deadlines
Maintain accurate and comprehensive project records
Identify and communicate project delays alongside the wider project team
Implement effective change management procedures in line with contract conditions
Minimise non-recoverable costs across projects
Price and negotiate project variations effectively
Requirements
HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (desirable)
Minimum of three years' experience within the construction sector
Working knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCT
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Valid CSCS card (desirable)
Full UK driving licence
