CMM Dimensional Inspection Specialist - £33.50/hr (Inside IR35) - Wolverhampton - 6 Months (potential for renewal) Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CMM Dimensional Inspection Specialist to join a premium brand within the automotive sector. This role involves operating advanced metrology equipment, conducting precise dimensional inspections, and contributing to process improvements within a dynamic and innovative environment. Responsibilities As a CMM Dimensional Inspection Specialist, your key responsibilities will include: Programming and operating Zeiss GOM Scanbox equipment for dimensional inspection of components and assemblies. Programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate measurements. Conducting first article, in-process, and final inspections in compliance with quality standards. Producing, analyzing, and communicating dimensional inspection reports using metrology software such as Zeiss Calypso and Zeiss Inspect. Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and customer specifications. Verifying and maintaining inspection equipment in line with calibration and quality system requirements. Developing and improving inspection programs, fixtures, and measurement processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ensuring accurate completion and maintenance of inspection records and documentation. Supporting process improvement initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement projects. Sharing knowledge within the team and providing technical support to production and engineering teams. Managing workload independently and making sound technical decisions within established procedures.Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: Proven experience programming and operating GOM Scanbox equipment. Proficiency in programming Zeiss Calypso software. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with production and engineering teams. NVQ Level 3, an indentured apprenticeship, or a time-served apprenticeship relevant to the field of work.Day-to-Day Your daily activities will involve: Setting up and programming advanced metrology equipment for inspections. Conducting detailed dimensional inspections and generating comprehensive reports. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and improve processes. Maintaining inspection equipment and ensuring compliance with calibration schedules.
