Packaging Sciences Apprentice Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire Qualification: BSc (Hons) Chemical Science (Part-time, distance learning) An exciting opportunity is available for a Packaging Sciences Apprentice to join a well-established R&D centre in Wantage, supporting packaging, materials and product assessment while studying towards a part-time Chemical Science BSc (Hons) with Manchester Metropolitan University. This hands-on role is ideal for someone passionate about chemistry, materials science and applied laboratory work, offering real industry experience alongside academic study. What you'll be doing: Supporting packaging, materials and product testing within an R&D laboratory environment Preparing, packing and testing food containers to industry standards Carrying out analytical and investigative laboratory techniques (e.g. microscopy, chromatography, spectroscopy, thermal analysis) Recording, analysing and reporting technical data with clear conclusions Managing samples, documentation and traceability using IT systems Working collaboratively across R&D, customer and factory support activities What we're looking for: Essential Minimum 104 UCAS points (BCC) at A-level or equivalent, including Chemistry Strong written and verbal communication skills Good IT skills (MS Office) Ability to balance work commitments with academic study A proactive, reliable team player with good time management Commitment to safe working and continuous learning Desirable Experience in food packaging, food production, laboratories or analytical chemistry What's on offer: Fully supported degree apprenticeship (BSc Hons Chemical Science) Exposure to advanced analytical techniques and real R&D projects Structured training, mentoring and long?term career development Inclusive, collaborative working environment We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates
