About the role
Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care (Community / Strength-Based Assessment Service)
A local authority service in Liverpool is looking to recruit experienced Occupational Therapists to join their Adult Social Care team.
The role focuses on delivering strength-based Occupational Therapy assessments, promoting independence, and supporting individuals to remain safely and confidently in their own homes through appropriate equipment, adaptations, and care planning in
line with the Care Act 2014.
Main Duties:
Undertake strength-based Occupational Therapy assessments for adults within eligibility criteria
Recommend, organise and oversee the provision of equipment and minor adaptations
Complete moving and handling assessments and provide safe, practical risk-managed solutions
Support service users and carers in the safe use of equipment and adaptations
Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing, voluntary services and other stakeholders
Deliver outcome-focused care planning in line with the Care Act 2014 and council policies
Manage a varied caseload in line with service priorities and statutory responsibilities
Maintain accurate electronic records and ensure timely completion of assessments
Promote independence, reablement and prevention of hospital or residential admission
Support and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students where requiredRequirements:
Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy
HCPC Registration
Experience within Adult Social Care/community Occupational Therapy
Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014 and strength-based practice
Experience completing moving and handling assessments
Ability to manage a busy caseload effectively
Strong communication, assessment and report writing skills
Enhanced DBS (support available)
Eligibility to work in the UK
