Job Title: HV Electrical Shift Lead Engineer – Critical Site Location: Croydon Shift Pattern: Continental Shift (Days & Nights) Salary: £60k + Shift Allowance + Bonus The Opportunity A well-established Facilities Management provider is seeking an experienced HV Electrical Shift Lead Engineer to take a leading role at a large, critical site in Croydon. This is an environment where reliability is everything. The site operates around the clock, and the engineering team plays a direct role in maintaining uptime and protecting essential infrastructure. The successful candidate will act as the lead engineer on shift, taking ownership of electrical systems and guiding the team through both routine operations and high-pressure situations. Why This Role Stands Out A large-scale, technically demanding site with critical infrastructure Genuine shift leadership responsibility, not just task execution Opportunity to work on HV/LV systems and complex electrical plant A structured, well-run contract with clear processes and expectations Strong team environment with support from experienced engineers and managementKey Responsibilities Act as the lead engineer on shift, overseeing all electrical operations on site Operate and control high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems safely and effectively Deliver and supervise planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works Respond to and manage critical incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to operations Monitor systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, and power distribution Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and safe operating procedures Provide technical support and guidance to engineers on shift Maintain detailed shift reports, logbooks, and compliance documentation Liaise with site management, clients, and specialist contractors when requiredThe Ideal Candidate The organisation is looking for a strong, dependable electrical engineer who can lead from the front. The right individual will be calm under pressure, technically capable, and confident in managing both systems and people.
