Bid Writing Manager

Orion Group is partnering with a highly successful construction client to recruit a Bid Manager to join their team. In this role, you will take ownership of project bids from initial concept through to tender submission and contract award, ensuring strong commercial outcomes and appropriate reimbursement at each stage. You will manage the technical, commercial, and contractual aspects of bids through to early site phases, while supporting operational and commercial teams during construction on bid related matters. Working closely with Directors, the Regional Estimator, and the Cost Planner, you will help resolve complex or sensitive issues and contribute to effective risk management and project profitability. Manage the pre-construction activities for projects. - Prepare budget costs for projects at feasibility stage - Produce tender reports as required by the Regional Bid Manager and Directors - Carry out cost/value investigations in conjunction with Regional Bid Manager and Tender Team - Identify and manage risks and opportunities associated with tenders - Identify value engineering to maximise commercial returns to the business - Evolve historical cost database - Ensure that the management of bids, from early design stages through to site commencement, is progressed in line with the tender programme and that costs related to the design are fully understood and the companys position is contractually protected and margin opportunities maximised - Any other duties which may be allocated to you from time to time by the Regional Bid Manager Construction experience in a Bid, Design, Commercial or Pre-construction capacity - A formal construction related academic qualification is preferred - Able to identify and assess commercial risk and develop winning strategies for projects - Strong Bid Writing Skills We have a network of 200 employees working from 24 offices, delivering a range of services Talent Acquisition, Recruitment Outsourcing Services, Retained Search, Global Workforce Solutions, Completions & Commissioning and Materials Management across 68 countries.
