Electrical Estimator – Building Services (M&E) Location: Cardiff Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (depending on experience) Job Type: Permanent A large and well‑established M&E / building services contractor is looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to join its Cardiff‑based pre‑construction team. The business delivers a broad range of building services projects across commercial, healthcare, education and public‑sector environments, with work ranging from medium‑value bids through to more technically complex schemes. Due to a consistent workload and a healthy tender pipeline, they are looking to strengthen their electrical estimating function. The Role Working as part of an established estimating team, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of competitive electrical tenders for building services projects. Key duties include: * Producing detailed electrical take‑offs from drawings and specifications * Pricing electrical packages including containment, cabling, power, lighting, fire alarm and associated services * Reviewing tender documentation and identifying risks, opportunities and clarifications * Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations * Supporting bid submissions and tender returns * Working closely with other estimators, commercial staff and pre‑construction colleagues * Maintaining accurate pricing records and supporting continuous improvement of estimating data About You This role will only suit an Electrical Estimator with experience in M&E or building services, looking to continue developing within a structured and supportive team environment. Essential: * Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator * Good understanding of electrical building services installations * Ability to carry out accurate take‑offs and pricing * Strong attention to detail and good commercial awareness * Confident working with drawings, specifications and tender documents * Competent IT skills (Excel and estimating software) Desirable: * Experience pricing projects in healthcare, education or commercial sectors * Electrical trade or engineering background * Familiarity with design & build M&E projects What’s On Offer * £55k–£65k basic salary depending on experience * Permanent role with a stable, well‑established contractor * Cardiff‑based position with an established local team * Clear development and progression within the estimating function * Exposure to a varied and consistent pipeline of building services work
