Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Sheffield Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Could you keep a classroom calm, focused, and on track in a teacher's absence? As a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of classes across a variety of subjects, ensuring pupils remain engaged with pre-set work while maintaining a positive and structured learning environment. Responsibilities: Supervise classes during teacher absences across a range of subjects Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students focused on assigned tasks Foster a calm, respectful, and productive classroom atmosphere Manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies Offer guidance and support to pupils as they work through set activities Liaise with teaching staff regarding any concerns or incidents Uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all learners Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable Confidence in managing a classroom independently and professionally Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions with minimal supervision A flexible, proactive, and reliable approach to work A genuine enthusiasm for education and young people's development An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
