About the role
Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher on a full-time basis for a Year 6 maternity cover at a school in South Gloucestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school committed to delivering a nurturing, inclusive, and innovative education grounded in our core values of respect, resilience, and curiosity. The successful candidate will support the school's mission to inspire lifelong learners and create a positive, supportive environment where every child can thrive. The position is scheduled to start at the beginning of the upcoming term and will continue until the end of the maternity cover period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that align with the national curriculum and reflect the school’s commitment to personalised learning and holistic development.
- Support the academic progress and wellbeing of Year 6 pupils, including providing targeted support for individuals or groups as required.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, resilience, and a sense of community in accordance with the school’s ethos.
- Use formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor student progress and adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to support each child's individualised learning journey and social development.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and prepare reports to inform ongoing assessment and future planning.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote a positive school culture and uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and perseverance.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development to continually enhance teaching practices and support the school's educational approach.
