Warehouse Team Leader

Nelson Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of their freight business client based in Tyseley, Birmingham, for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader. Job Overview We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily warehouse operations while managing and developing a small team. This role combines warehouse operator duties with leadership, stock control, and operational responsibility. Salary & Hours Mon – Fri 08:30 – 17:30 £28,930 Per Annum Key Responsibilities * Structure and organise the warehouse and team workflow * Lead, manage, and motivate the warehouse team (currently 3 staff) * Plan daily actions and workloads * Learn and operate the warehouse management system * Complete regular stock checks and maintain accuracy * Control orders, pallets, and goods movements * Ensure goods are correctly labelled, stored, and put away promptly * Arrange goods onto racking efficiently and safely * Upload POD paperwork onto scanner * Scan picking and packing lists * Complete and maintain all warehouse paperwork * Carry out quality control checks * Identify and implement training requirements for the team * Conduct investigation meetings and resolve operational issues * Carry out general warehouse operator duties as required Forklift Licence Requirements * Counterbalance forklift licence – essential * Flexi and Combi licences preferred * Training available for Flexi and Combi (Counterbalance priority) Skills & Experience * Previous warehouse or logistics experience * Team leader / supervisory experience preferred * Strong organisational and problem-solving skills * Confident people management ability * High attention to detail and quality standards * Flexible approach to work Additional Requirements * Willingness to work overtime when required * Flexible to work ad-hoc weekends Please apply with your CV.
