About the role
Summary
This full-time, long-term position is ideal for an experienced educator with a background in Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will work closely with a small group (8-10) of Year 1 and Year 2 children who require additional support due to their individual needs and are awaiting or on EHCPs. As part of our committed team, you will contribute to creating an inclusive environment that aligns with our school's ethos of nurturing every child's potential through personalised learning and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored teaching to a small group of 8-10 children with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met in accordance with their EHCPs and school policies.
- Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to accommodate the diverse needs of pupils, fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
- Provide 1:1 support to students as required, working collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to implement effective strategies.
- Support classroom management and behaviour regulation, promoting positive behaviour and respecting the school's values of kindness, respect, and resilience. - Contribute to the development and implementation of personalised education plans, tracking progress and providing feedback to the SENCO and wider team.
- Assist in creating a nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth, aligning with the school's commitment to holistic development. - Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support the delivery of high-quality education across the primary phase.
- Engage with parents and carers as appropriate, maintaining open communication to support the child's ongoing development.
