Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Are you an experienced FE curriculum leader with a background in Science, Digital, Computing or a related subject area?
We're recruiting for a Head of Science & Digital to lead and develop curriculum provision, drive teaching and learning standards and deliver strong outcomes for students.
The Role
You will:
Lead curriculum design, development and innovation across Science & Digital
Lead and develop a team of teaching staff
Drive high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
Monitor student progress, achievement and performance data
Lead quality improvement and support Ofsted readiness
Develop staff through coaching, CPD and performance management
Optimise staffing, timetabling and curriculum resources
Manage budgets and ensure effective use of resources
Build strong relationships with employers and external partners
Support strategic curriculum development aligned to industry needs
About You
We're looking for someone with:
Strong Further Education experience
Experience in Science, Digital, Computing, IT or related curriculum areas
Proven curriculum management/development experience
Experience leading and developing teaching teams
Strong knowledge of teaching, learning and quality improvement
Experience working with performance data and improvement planning
Good understanding of the FE inspection/quality framework
Experience of budget and resource management
Degree or equivalent management experienceThis role could suit an experienced Head of Curriculum, Curriculum Manager, Head of Department or Faculty Manager, as well as a Senior/Lead Lecturer, Programme Leader or Curriculum Lead ready to step up.
