About the role

Supply Heroes are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school in the Oldbury (B68) area for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team following the May half-term 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs within a caring and structured school environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning, develop independence and achieve their potential. The role will involve supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, depending on individual needs. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN * Supporting children with a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties) * Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies * Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources * Supporting pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation * Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils Requirements * Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant * Strong experience supporting children with additional needs * A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable) * Good understanding of SEN strategies and behaviour support * A patient, calm and resilient approach * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: * Be confident supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs * Demonstrate consistency, empathy and professionalism * Be proactive and able to adapt to pupil needs * Work effectively as part of a supportive school team * Be committed to making a positive impact on children’s learning and wellbeing About Supply Heroes: * Excellent rates of pay on PAYE * Around the clock support whenever you need it * Commitment to a quality of service and safeguarding * Support with any interviews and lesson observations * Transparency and honesty * Exclusive job roles around the West Midlands If you are interested in this role, please apply now with your CV.
