Job Title: Electrical Estimator

A reputable regional M&E Contractor are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join their established team. The company provides M&E services to a wide range of clients across a variety of sectors including Commercial, Education, Life Sciences, Industrial, Healthcare, Leisure and Residential.
As the Electrical Estimator you be key in the pre-construction process, supporting the commercial team in producing accurate and competitive estimates for Electrical building services projects. You will be involved in tender reviews, take-offs, cost planning, and liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best value.
You will be work within an established M&E estimating team in preparing Electrical estimates up to £4 million, so previous experience is essential.
The Electrical Estimator will have the following duties and responsibilities:
* Preparing accurate and competitive Electrical tenders for a range of building services projects using estimating software packages.
* Conduct take-offs from drawings and specifications.
* Manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
* Attend site surveys or tender interviews as necessary.
* Evaluate supplier and sub-contract returns to ensure compliance with the tender specification.
* Maintaining and updating cost databases to reflect current market trends, material prices and labour costs ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Liaise with other departments regarding completion of all information as required within the enquiry to support accurate cost planning.
* Provide ongoing assistance to the projects team if requests for the generation of variation costs are received.
* Close liaison with new and existing clients regarding any enquiries received and assigned.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
* Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of Electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing and public health) and their installation methods.
* Experience within in similar position as an Electrical Estimator ideally with project values up to £4m.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines whilst managing multiple tenders.
* The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise tenders.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Strong IT skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
* Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Building Services (desirable).
