SEN Teacher KS3 - October half-term start

KS3 SEN Teacher – Southwark, London Start Date: After October Half Term Key Stage: KS3 Location: Southwark, London We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dynamic KS3 SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Southwark after the October half-term break. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher with strong experience working within a complex SEN setting, particularly with pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and significant developmental needs. About the Class The role involves teaching a KS3 class, predominantly Year 7 pupils, with a range of complex needs including: Autism Global Developmental Delay Severe Learning Difficulties Sensory-level learning needs Higher levels of behaviour and additional support needsThe class includes pupils working at a range of developmental levels, including some requiring a highly sensory approach to learning. The successful teacher will be supported by a team of five Teaching Assistants, providing a strong level of classroom support. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a teacher who: Has proven experience working in a complex SEN setting Has experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties and/or autism Is confident managing and supporting higher behaviour needs Can adapt teaching to pupils working at significantly different developmental levels Is dynamic, energetic and active in their approach Can create engaging, sensory and appropriately differentiated learning experiences Is confident working collaboratively with a large team of Teaching Assistants Has a calm, patient and consistent approach Is passionate about supporting pupils with complex additional needsWhy This Role? You will be joining a specialist SEN environment with a strong support structure, including five TAs working alongside the class teacher. The role would suit a teacher who enjoys working creatively and practically and who is confident adapting their teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with complex learning profiles.
