About the role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team based in Dundee. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small, close-knit team supporting the manufacture of highly engineered products for the defence, space, and aerospace sectors. Operating in a niche, technically demanding market, we deliver innovative interconnect solutions where quality, precision, and reliability are critical. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS), supporting manufacturing operations, resolving customer and supplier quality issues, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for manufacturing processes and finished products.
  • Develop and improve inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure product quality and process capability.
  • Analyse quality and production data to identify trends and recommend improvements to quality standards and procedures.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints, supplier issues, internal non-conformances, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support production teams with quality-related queries and technical problem solving.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external standards, including AS9100, ISO standards, and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits.
  • Work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to improve quality performance.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and investigation skills, including experience with methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, or similar structured approaches.
  • The ability to understand and work with highly technical products and components.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience supporting or conducting internal audits (desirable).
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (desirable).
