Key Responsibilities
* Complaints Management: Update and investigate customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and communication with relevant departments.
* Non-Conformance Review: Assist in reviewing non-conformances (NCs), chasing close-outs, and ensuring all non-conforming products are logged and addressed.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of quality control processes, testing results, and compliance records.
* Auditing: Conduct regular audits and keep up to date with the audit schedule to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
* Microbiological Testing: Assist in testing microbiological products and swabs to ensure product safety and quality.
* Training: Assist in training production staff and quality assurance (QA) team members on quality standards, procedures, and site standards.
* GMP Standards: Drive high GMP standards in all areas to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* QA Coverage: Provide cover for QA staff during sickness and absence, offering a helping hand where needed.
* Compliance Support: Provide cover for the Compliance Technologist as needed, ensuring continuous adherence to regulatory requirements.
* CCP Monitoring: Monitor and sign off on all Critical Control Point (CCP) paperwork to ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Documentation Control: Assist in the control and archive quality paperwork, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
* Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and technical teams to ensure seamless operations.
* Trending: Updating regular trends and distribution to shareholders.
What We’re Looking For
* Education & Experience: A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field or studying towards is advantageous. Previous experience in food production quality assurance is a must.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with HACCP principles, GMPs, and relevant food safety certifications (e.g., BRCGS, SQF).
* Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and training purposes.
* Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
