Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established independent specialist school in West London in their search for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a supportive team, helping to deliver a high-quality, inclusive education to students aged 11-19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs.
In this role, you will provide vital support to both teachers and students, helping to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both in and out of the classroom
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery, and classroom management
Help implement individual education, behaviour, and support plans
Support students' social, emotional, and communication development
Promote positive behaviour and assist in managing challenging situations
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staffAbout You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly autism (preferred)
Compassionate & Patient: Able to build positive relationships and support students with complex needs
Resilient: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing challenging behaviour
Collaborative: A strong team player with good communication skills
Proactive & Flexible: Willing to adapt to the needs of students and the school environmentWhat's on Offer
