The Role
As a Lead Drainage Specialist, you will oversee site investigations and develop technical solutions for complex drainage issues, working closely with internal teams, water authorities, and Environment Agency partners. Your responsibilities will include managing the operational delivery of projects, deputising for senior managers in public and strategic forums, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and policies.
You will lead emergency responses and contribute to continuous service improvements by integrating best practice from across the construction industry. Your role will involve overseeing procurement processes, managing supply chain performance, and administering contracts under NEC frameworks. You will also be responsible for budget management, stakeholder communication, risk assessments, and promoting safety and sustainability in all activities.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Extensive proven expertise in drainage engineering and site investigations
Strong leadership and project management skills within a regulated environment
In-depth knowledge of highway drainage infrastructure and relevant legislation
Experience in liaising with water companies, regulators, and public agencies
