CAD Design Engineer

Job Title: CAD Design Engineer Location: Birmingham Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Company A well-established fabrication and engineering business specialising in high-quality entertainment-based solutions, supporting projects across events, venues, and bespoke installations. Known for precision, reliability, and a hands-on approach to delivery, the company is continuing to grow its design capability. The Role As a CAD Design Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming client concepts into accurate, manufacturable designs. Working closely with production and project teams, you'll ensure drawings are practical, efficient, and aligned with real-world installation requirements. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for fabrication and installation projects Interpret client briefs, technical specifications, and site measurements Liaise with workshop and installation teams to ensure designs are buildable Amend and update drawings based on feedback and project changes Support projects from concept through to manufacture and install Maintain drawing standards and technical documentation Requirements Proficient in AutoCAD Desirable experience with Autodesk Inventor Background working within a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
